Theme Fragrance - Luv the roll-on!
Life
is busy! Theme is designed so you can throw it in your bag or back
pocket. THEME, broken up, become THE-ME - your OWN fragrance. Every day
should feel like summer or a vacation, just something special like
having your own "love letter." That's how Beth Morrison, the designer
of Theme Fragrance, describes the line. "I love it when my customers
mix the perfumes together, like Love Letter with Sarong or Sarong with
Frolic."
Beth's tips for fragrance are to be more subtle than
brash. "I love it when someone smells divine, but doesn't knock you out
with the perfume. Fragrance should blend with the person and create
something special rather than scream. It's more enticing to have people
want to lean and get closer for a sniff of the fragrance! I love the
idea of spraying perfume on the back of the neck, or only behind the
knees!" -- Beth Morrison

Rose
has to be one of the most famous (and oldest!) fragrance notes of all
time. The scent of rose evokes old-time romance- you know, the kind you
see in old black and white movies where the woman always looks
stunning, even in her boudoir, where the man brings chocolate and- duh-
roses, where there are violins playing behind every kiss, and there
are, of course, love letters written on beautiful, scented stationary.
However, there are times when rose can feel a little outdated in our
whirlwind electronic world.
Theme Fragrance’s Love Letter is a fabulous update on a very,
very classic fragrance. Rather than being straight rose with other
florals, Theme mixes it with unlikely topnotes. When it first hit my
nose, I was shocked- I wholly expected it to be very romantic and
flowery, but instead, there are almost citrusy-fruity topnotes that
quickly blend nicely with the middle note of rose.
Theme Fragrance describes it as: “Sparkling Rose Notes with notes of fall fruit and summer berries. This is a delicious crisp and modern rose fragrance.” I
couldn’t agree more! It’s still got the romance and class of the rose
floral, but the topnotes take it into the 21st century- like getting a
love letter through email!
The one small problem I have with this fragrance is that it
seems to fade very quickly on my skin. But fear not! This fragrance
comes in two forms- roll-on and a small spray bottle, both of which are
perfect for portability. I now throw the roll-on in my growing
collection of “purse fragrances” and it’s quickly become a favorite of
mine. I dab a bit on the pulse point of my neck when I need a
pick-me-up: seriously, this fragrance does wonders for my mood. Just a
quick whiff and I immediately feel classier, more romantic, and a lot
happier.
Another plus? The price! A lot of fine perfumes run
expensive, but this one falls well under twenty dollars: 9.75 USD for
the roll-on and 15.50 USD for the spray! I definitely recommend picking
this one up if you love romantic fragrances!
What about you ladies? Any of you tried Theme’s Love Letter?

Fragrance Review: Arte del Profumo, No. 17 White Iris
Summary: White Iris is a delicate floral fragrance from Arte del Profumo, a New-York based company run by Elizabeth Morrison.
Pros: Stunning musky floral that isn't too heavy on the skin; fantastic longevity and is suitable for women of any age.
Cons: If you don’t like creamy florals, this isn't the scent for you.
Notes: "White iris, delicate mimosa, incense and light musk" (Arte del Profumo etsy store)
Reminds me of: Nothing I can think of. (I haven't smelt any white iris scents other than this one!)
Designer’s Description: "Number 17 WHITE IRIS
White
iris, delicate mimosa, incense and light musk. A creamy clean
composition
Number 17 is deliciously feminine, creamy and just
beautiful!" (Arte del Profumo etsy store)
Number of times tested: 5
Number of sprays applied for this review: One dab to each wrist
Fragrance strength: Perfume Oil
Development: (Linear / Average / Complex) There are no real changes throughout the time White Iris stays on your skin.
Longevity: (Short / Average / Long-lasting) Still going after more than 8 hours!
Sillage: (A little / Average / A lot) You can only really smell it if you get real close (which means you get it all to yourself!)
Where can I buy it? Directly from Arte del Profumo's Etsy store
for $9.75 US for a one dram roll-on bottle. If you'd prefer a spray,
you can purchase a ½ oz perfume spray for $15 US. You can also buy 4
sample vials of any of their fragrances for $9.75 US. (Also, check out
Elizabeth Morrison's other store, Theme Fragrance
– there are some more gorgeous scents on there for the same price. I
recommend Frolic – honeysuckle, jasmine
very tropical! Makes me wish it
were summer!)
Note About the Packaging: “1 dram roll-on bottle adorned with matte finish silver oxidized flower ornament” (Arte del Profumo etsy store) – couldn't have put it better myself.
The Bottom Line: When I first contacted Elizabeth, Beth
recommended that I try No. 17 White Iris. I'm so glad she did!
First of all, I’ve never had the pleasure of smelling a white iris, so
I did a bit of research, hoping someone on the net had described the
aroma. I found out that the white iris (on a red background) was the
symbol of Florence, Italy until the Medici family reversed the colours
as a show of power, making the iris red. Other than that, I came to a
dead end
no information on how it smells, other than a link to I
Profumi di Firenze's Iris di Firenze perfume, which really didn’t help
me much!
So, I went into sniffing this blind, so to speak!
The combination of white iris, mimosa, incense and musk at first
perplexed me a bit – would the incense overpower the florals? With that
incense note, would the musk shine through? Then I tried it on my skin
– I was relieved
the iris and mimosa notes blend really well with the
incense, which isn't as strong as I'd imagined. It actually gives the
florals a bit of an earthy feel, without going overboard. And, of
course, the musk makes it all a little sensual, a bit powdery and, as
Beth puts it - "creamy".
Arte del Profumo No. 17 White Iris is one of the only vanilla-less
fragrances that I would call a "comfort scent" – you know, those
perfumes that you wear when you want to feel warm and safe, like you’re
wrapped up in a woolly blanket in front of a fire, sipping a hot
chocolate and eating toasted marshmallows
ok, enough imagery!
Seriously, White Iris is a gorgeous fragrance for any age – I love it
and my mum loves it as well, so there's definitely no age restriction
for wearing it!
Rating (out of 10): 8.5

Powdery vanilla perfume is your ticket to the tropics
Although we may have left summer behind, there's no reason you can't whisk yourself away to your own private island - even if it is only in your mind.
The Sarong roll-on perfumefrom Theme Fragrancethat I received in the October edition of The Sampleris your ticket to the tropics, and you won't have to worry about bringing your sunblock.
The roll-on bottle is a brilliant idea, making it just as easy to pop your perfume into your purse as it does to quickly whip it out and roll it onto your pulse points. A little dab'll do ya'!
After slicking the scent onto my wrists, the scents of Creme de coconut, white sands, night blooming flowers and vanilla in the Sarong scent lasted all day, even after tending to a sink full of dishes. The scent seemed to melt into my skin, making it seem as though I was lightly dusted with a powder puff of vanilla stardust.
With 3 other scents in the Theme Fragranceline in both 4.6 ml roll-on and half-ounce eau de toilette bottles, be prepared to be sniffed and savored by everyone within smelling distance!
